Applying shouldn't feel like a second degree
The rules are scattered
Eligibility, stipends, work policies and deadlines hide across PDFs, portals and old forum threads.
Referees go quiet
Programmes want two or three letters, and the few professors you know may never reply. Many strong applicants stop right there.
Nobody to ask
Most applicants never speak to someone who actually won. Guessing what reviewers want is exhausting.
Everything between you and “Submit”
- 1
Pick your scholarship
Get a clear path from eligibility to submission, with dates set for your cycle.
- 2
Learn it, then do it
Two-minute lessons and quick quizzes, plus the real tasks: choose courses, ask referees, draft essays.
- 3
See how ready you are
A readiness score shows what's done and exactly what's still missing for your application.
- 4
Keep documents in one vault
Store your passport, transcripts and references privately, and get warned before anything expires.
- 5
Never miss a deadline
Scholi nudges you and builds a catch-up plan. No data? Saved lessons still count for your streak.
- 6
Get help from winners
Read laureates' documents for free, or upload your essay as a PDF for review. With Plus, chat and rehearse interviews with them.
Always know where your application stands
Ten minutes a day moves a real application forward, and you can see exactly what's left before the deadline.
Earn a referee who knows your work
Volunteer on a real research project with a verified professor. You come out with a certificate anyone can check, and someone who can honestly vouch for you.
Join a real project
Professors post small, concrete tasks: cleaning data, reviewing literature, translating sources. A few hours a week, fully online.
Finish with a certificate
Your professor confirms the hours and the work. The certificate has its own page and QR code, so a programme can check it in seconds.
Ask for a letter, on time
Request a letter for a specific application. Your professor answers yes or no, gets reminders before the deadline, and submits it directly.
Projects are unpaid and free to join. Letters are never sold or guaranteed: a professor writes one only if your work earns it.
Are you a professor or researcher?
Bright students in Africa often lack one thing: a referee who has seen them work. Offer a small project, choose who joins, and decide for yourself whether to write a letter.

Questions, answered
Is it free?
Yes. The step-by-step paths, readiness score, document vault, reminders, offline lessons, laureates' documents and research projects are free. Scholarion Plus is optional and adds laureate chats, mock interviews with laureates, mentoring sessions, early access to new research projects, a search for communities abroad, friends' progress, streak protection, cheaper essay reviews and half the fee on services.
How do I pay?
With Mobile Money (MTN MoMo or Orange Money) in FCFA. You confirm the payment on your phone, and every price is shown in full before you pay.
Where does the scholarship information come from?
From the official scholarship websites. Each page shows when we last checked it and links to the official source, which always has the final word.
How is my data used?
Only to run your journey: your progress, reminders and messages. We don't sell data or show ads. Analytics are privacy-friendly and cookieless. You can export or delete your account at any time from your profile.
Who are the laureates?
Past winners of the scholarships we cover. They apply as mentors, and our team verifies each profile before it goes live. They volunteer their time, so please be kind and specific.
Can Scholarion get me a recommendation letter?
Not directly, and nobody honest can sell you one. What we offer is a way to earn one: volunteer on a project with a verified professor, and when you finish, ask them for a letter. They decide, and they submit it to the programme themselves. Scholarion tracks the request and reminds them before your deadline.
How do you check the professors?
Each professor confirms an email address on their university's domain, and our team checks that their university's website lists them before their projects go live. Every project page also shows how reliably they answer applications and letter requests.
Will Scholarion write my essays?
No, and that's on purpose. We teach what reviewers look for and give you prompts and checklists, but your stories and plans have to be yours.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. Scholarion is a web app you can install on Android and iPhone straight from the browser, and it keeps working on slow connections.
Can I use it without data?
Yes. Save a path's lessons to your phone and keep learning offline. Lessons done offline count for your streak on the day you did them, and sync when you're back online. Data saver also hides images and animations.
Are my documents safe?
Vault files are private to your account and open through short-lived links. When you upload an essay as a PDF, it's read on your phone and the file itself isn't uploaded. We black out personal details we detect, but please check the text before sending it.
Do you offer mock interviews?
Yes, with Plus. Laureates who offer mock interviews arrange them with you in the chat. They volunteer their time, so availability varies.
